The Beard Runs

Navigate. Discover. Never get lost.

Welcome, adventurers!

Sander

My name is Sander, and if you're looking for me, I'm outside!

I caught the running bug years ago and have since covered plenty of kilometres on the road, through the forest, and over the mountains. Running through the woods is one of the best things you can do — it never gets boring, and there's always something new to see.

A few years ago I got into orienteering: running and navigating at the same time! A great challenge that's both physical and puts your mind to the test. Just that little bit extra to make your run even more fun!

These days it's almost impossible to get lost since everyone has a smartphone with Google Maps. But what do you do if you have no signal? Or your phone battery is dead? That's the question I try to answer by teaching workshops on how to find your way with a GPS, or with a map and compass.

What do I do?

Going outside sounds simple enough, but what exactly do I do?

I organise outdoor activities for groups aged 8 and up. The activities all revolve around learning to use GPS, map and compass, and getting everyone moving as actively as possible.

The activities I offer include:

Kids' party

From an adventurous scavenger hunt to running through the forest, and everything in between!

Not seeing what you're looking for? Feel free to get in touch — a lot is possible!

How does it work?

When you book an activity, I bring all the necessary materials to the location of your choice. It's best if that's a forest or park, but a lot is possible in consultation. Working together is an important element of the workshops, with participants working in groups as much as possible.

The activities are designed for children aged 8 and up, but since you're never too old to run through the forest, there's no upper age limit. So whether you're an after-school care organisation or primary school looking for a fun activity, planning a team-building event, or organising a bachelor(ette) party — a lot is possible!
